Family Portraits - The "E" Family - Maryville Missouri Portrait Photographer

11-24-efam

This sweet little family lives just a few short miles from my house but we'd never met before mom called looking for some portraits of her family. She wanted to capture what they were really like, not how well they could pose.

Izaak and Abby - Kid portraits Maryville, Missouri

Exibit A:

ia3

These two are full of life.
That's a polite way of saying they are ornery.

But ornery is not bad, especially in the case of this brother and sister. Even tho they will probably have a life time of "Mom he hit me!" and "Dad she won't give me back my ball glove!" you can tell that they have a beautiful little relationship, and truly love each other.

I give you the above photo as proof.

Lesley and Colby - Engaged! Sneak Peek - Nebraska City, Ne

10-12-lesley3

Lesley and Colby are so sweet and kind. It's obvious that they love each other. They wanted to do something different, and so we ended up in Nebraska City, Nebraska at Arbor Day Farms. This place is golden! No really. I could shoot every day for a year and never hit all the good spots!

Kayleigh + John = Getting Engaged!

10-1-kayleigh2

I met Kayleigh for the first time at a bridal fair. She's so sweet and kinda quiet. She really REALLY wanted me to shoot her wedding for her, and that really REALLY made me want to shoot her wedding.

Funny how things work out.

Her mom was with her, and something she said stuck with me. She said "John is the perfect man for Kayleigh, we couldn't ask for a better guy." You know what? Mom was right. These two are good together and it's obvious that they love each other deeply. You know, that icky, squishy, please stop looking at each other so much because I've been married for more than 2 years, kinda love. ;P

Kyla's One-Year photos

Kyla is the granddaugher of our friends Debbie and Duane. She's also terribly spoiled by Grandma.

Just observing.

So last month we went down to take some pics of this little nugget. I wanted to take her home, but grandma (and mom and dad) wouldn't let me. What's up with that?

Grandma's favorite, made her cry.
Big softy.

Dear Kyla,
Here is your little finger. Here is grandma, wrapped tightly. Now, quick, ask for a car!
Love,
Lana

Bekah - the senior portraits

09-09-bekah7

Bekah is another of my senior spokesmodels locally! She is one of those sweet girls that you would have a hard time not liking. She's kind, yet out spoken. Tough and yet sensitive. Determined and smart.

So in a nutshell... she's exactly like me.
Only a LOT skinnier, 3 years younger :p and her hair is naturally that color.

Yes, it's ok to hate her for that bit.

Bekah is also my son's best friend's fiance and roommate. She's had it a little rough at times, but she handles it well. She's very mature and like I said before, determined. Ever since she was a little girl, she's wanted to be a plastic surgeon, but admitted that she doesn't think she can handle the yucky parts, so she's going to school to be a nurse.

(I'm not gonna tell her they probably have worse yucky parts.)

Bekah and I met a few weeks ago, before her session and talked about what kind of portraits she'd like to have. I explained my vision to her, the direction I was trying to take my seniors and she whole-heartedly agreed!

You'll see some traditional here, but you'll also see some very non-traditional. Both have been a hit!

We about ran off the road when we saw this patch of flowers along side it! We had to stop. Turns out, yellow is Bekah's favorite color. Isn't it funny how things work out sometimes?

You could sit and analyze this picture all day long about this or that... or, you could just appreciate that it's really cool and different and not something you normally see in a senior pic.

I prefer the latter.

Congrats Bekah for .... well... being you.
We like you that way. Keep doing it.

Meet Kade

09-15-kade1

You should meet Kade. This is how he looks ALL THE TIME! Tons of smiles, and Daddy can make him *laugh* really big. Taking his picture was EASY!

09-15-kade2

I got an opportunity to try out my new (old) baby doll carriage that I got for a whopping $16.50 antique shopping. FYI, we saw a similar one this weekend not as cute for $240!!

09-15-kade4

Sweet feet of Kade and his brother and sister. They were all really cute kids!

09-15-kade3

09-15-kade5

Dad is a John Deere guy. Can you tell?

09-15-kade9

I also finally found a little guy to put into my giant teacup. He just barely fit. He also seized the opportunity to chew on his toes.

09-15-kade7

Bet ya can't do that when you're 40 Kade.

No, in fact I down right guarantee it.

09-15-kade8

And my absolute favorite of the session:

09-15-kade6

Selective coloring does not make you popular in some photography circles but I DON'T CARE! I so much love how cute this photo is. It wasn't my favorite when I started (It's grainy so I totally ran with the grainy theme and made it more grainy lol), now I love how those eyes just pop.

Thanks for being such a good boy Kade. You can come live with me any time you want. Well, as long s you are smiley and sweet, then it's back to mom. :p

Pun intended

3 kids, 15 minutes total, about 75-100 photos. I'll try to share more later. I say that all the time, I know. I have tons of photo/post catching up since being out of the loop for 3 days.
