How I spent my Fourth

Sitting on the bank of the lake, eating apple pie, singing songs stuck in my head (which for the record, were written by my husband), and shooting away.

As usual, some of the best fireworks of the night, were by mother nature herself.

To take better fireworks photos, I brushed up on my skills by watching this video from creative live.

Oh, I love your pictures!! They look amazing. We did not get to watch fireworks this year because of the fire danger, so I did not get to practice. Love the way yours turned out.

First off, congrats on your SITS day! Secondly, your fireworks pics are so great! Much better than the ones I barely caught on my phone.

i didn't do anything on the 4th, but listen to the high pitch squeals of my yorkie, followed by my other yorkie, followed by my chow sharpei shepherd mutt! thank you soooooo much for taking such spectacular photos! it's so much easier to admire them in still shots. i can really see the vibrant colors. brilliant.

p.s. found you on SITs :)

Oh what fun! Your photos are wonderful. I made the mistake of waiting til the last minute to take my newish (got it in February) DSLR to manual and wasn't able to capture the fireworks shots I wanted. Silly thing was, I found what settings I wanted, but really struggled just figuring out how to change them on there! I've shot with an SLR before, but it's been awhile, so it's like learning all over again. Oh well...there's always next year and thanks to your link, I have a video to check out too! :>

Stopping in from SITS to wish you a Happy SITS Day! :>
