Well hello there, intruder

One of the things I love about photography is downloading a photo onto the computer, all the while, wondering what little surprises you'll find. When you are taking them, you only see a little 3" version of what your image will look like, so it's like a little treasure hunt when you open them full resolution the first time.

I am always so intrigued by the photo in the photo. Meaning: when you take the photo and after you get it back home, you realize there was something there that you never noticed when you took it.

Most frequently this is a macro for me. I'm up close and don't see that tiny itty bitty spider until i look at it the size of a billboard. Lately I've been noticing when I take some wildlife shots, there always seems to be some pesky bugs flying around the subject.

Yesterday, Gene and I were out watching the chickens (yes we are boring, why do you ask?) and as the sun was setting, I snapped some shots of the clouds, then noticed this single bird on a wire:

Get inside, download and think "what the heck is that black spot?" Open it full resolution and see this:

A dragonfly. Fixing to get ate by a bird.
I'm not sure why I find that so darned amusing. Maybe because I took it from about 50 yards away?
