I seem to be as obsessed with the moon lately, as I am with airplanes. I just can not resist getting out the long lens when I see a big fat red moon rise. I can hardly wait to get the images onto my computer so I can see the detail of the craters and "mountains" of the moon at full resolution.
It makes me want to go out and buy an even longer lens - you know, for $7019.97. Or maybe just a 2x extender for around $300.
It's a tax right off right?

The title of the post made my eyebrows go up and then I laughed upon seeing the moon.
My husband has a nice long lens; but, I think he secretly wishes for an even longer one. But, he'll settle for an extender... He's still debating on what to do.
I am constantly plagued by lens envy. I have been fairly pleased with my extender, but if you really want some celestial bang for your buck, get one of those 1000 dollar camera adaptable telescopes instead.
It's unbelievable to see Jupiter and it's moons with your own eyes.
