About a year ago, I was bellyaching and making a fool of myself on the internet in a private photographer forum I frequent. Sounds exciting yes? Well, in that process, I happened across a photographer that doesn't live all that far from me up in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
We started chatting back and forth - complaining a lot (ok, that is probably more me than him lol) and quickly became pretty good photographer friends.
Sunday, there was a bridal fair in Nebraska City at Lied Lodge and Gene and I wanted to check it out before attending as it's a fairly pricy show if you're an out of towner.
We took this as a cosmic sign that we should all meet up and have lunch.
Originally, it was going to be Daniel Dunlap and his wife, but she had a birthday party she had to attend (I think she ditched us because she didn't want to hear about photography for another 4 hours lol ;) So instead, Daniel brought another local photographer - also from the same forum - Daniel Valente.
Yep.. Daniel and Daniel. Can't screw that up.
We had a great time chatting about photography. Complaining (that was mostly me). Gene was even not bored. Which is impressive considering he probably had no clue what we were talking about about 3/4 of the time. They even dragged me 14 miles across the park on foot.
{ok, maybe just a mile}
We left Gene behind at the lodge, and he hung out *at the bridal fair* alone. I'm sure he stuck out like a sore thumb.
I admit, I kinda drag my feet at branching out and meeting new people. I swear I'm borderline agoraphobic except everyone expects me to go to the grocery store and buy food.
Which sucks.
However, I'm trying to be a little more "open" and make friends and all that crap. Soooo... if you're around my parts, and want to meet up, send me a comment (I see every single one) and we'll do lunch, or coffee (not that I drink coffee). I promise I won't complain.

First of all.... Love the title! Secondly, you didn't complain too much. It was fun!
